Repurposing shutters into a headboard is very clever - made by Whitney from Shanty 2 Chic. Image found here at DIY Show Off. More ideas on using shutters in kids' rooms...
We are renovating a new home, then I will have to decorate 5 kids rooms. All of my kids have different ideas. I'm trying to sort it all out now. Looking for cool ideas. Great site! www.allegrasworld-allegra.blogspot.com
Love these shutter ideas! We are considering using some in my basement craft room. We have 2 of those high windows near the ceiling because it isn't a walkout. I had hung long curtains up to make it look like a faux window a few years ago but there is, of course, no natural light. Any tips or photos that you could share about using shutters in the basement? Thanks!
Most wood products used outdoors (like shutters, picket fences, etc.) are treated with chemicals. What do the artists do to get rid of those chemicals?
These shutters are available in different material like wood, aluminium, vinyl etc. Basswood is generally recommended for shutters. In case you live in the coastal region then you may go for vinyl shutter as the climate will not be suitable for wood shutters.
