Any Suggestions? Shopping In Utah....and Lunch?

Hi Dear Friends,
First of all - I wanted to thank all of my Design Dazzle followers and readers - I am so very appreciative of all the followers (over 3,000+)!! I am very grateful for all that make this blog possible.  If you are a new follower, welcome, welcome!! So thank you readers, for supporting this blog, dropping by and making comments : )

I'm headed to Utah next week- Salt Lake City, Holladay, Provo....anyone have any great ideas for shopping or good eats?? I love boutiques (Dear Lizzie)... mainly home style/decor boutiques. I won't be shopping for clothes on this trip. Are there any must see stores/model homes/bakeries?? I'm into really good quality sweets and a store that says WOW!! Please leave a comment for some fun places.

Anyone want to meet for lunch? I'm thinking of Thursday or Friday, July 8th or 9th maybe Normandie Cafe in Holladay or ??? Please email me toni @designdazzle(dot) com if you want to meet up! Would love to meet you : )

  1. I don't think I have commented on your blog before, but I LOVE it! Thanks for doing what you do! I am from Utah, but north of where you are going. The only store I can think of off the top of my head that is a must-visit is Rod Works. They have several locations and a few stores dedicated to clearance items, you'll have to check them out!

  2. Gardner Village (in Midvale) has some cute shops. I've also heard Daybreak has a boutique store - not sure if that's true or not! Draper just opened a new cupcake shop called Sweet Tooth Fairy. I've only been there once but it was delicious!

  4. We love a good bakery! I would try Dippidee in Lehi, or the Sweet Tooth Fairy in Provo. We also enjoy Slab Pizza in Provo or Communal or Spark also in Provo. There are two delightful places in Salt Lake, the Wild Grape and the Copper Onion. Alice Lane in Orem has gorgeous home decor, I drool every time I go there. Have a wonderful time!

  6. you need to go to Tai Pan Trading co. it is the most amazing home decor shop and it is actually very inexpensive. Oh yeah, Cafe Rio is the best! It's not fancy or anything, but they have the best taco salad!

  8. Every time I go home to visit fam in N. UT, I have to hit Tai Pan and Rod Works. (seriously, every time I go home, I make a day out of the two stores!) Both AMAZING home decor stores and good prices. Stuff you can't find anywhere else. And great inspiration and ideas with the latest trends.

I've also heard the Weedman has the most gorgeous wreaths ever. I plan to check him out next time I'm there.

Cafe Rio is another must! :)

    happy (and safe) travels!

  16. Okay, Cafe Rio blah blah blah... yes it's good (just like Chipotle or Qdoba or other similar places). What you must try is Kneaders! They have the best sandwiches (not to mention tasty fruit tarts and other baked goods).
Provo, Orem, Lehi, Ft. Union, South Jordan, Draper... they're all over now. Just wish I still lived in Utah to enjoy it!

  18. okay, cute, homemade touch of a boutique store would be in Provo on University Ave called Cherry Lane Boutique. (Accross from the huge library) good stuff... there's a few lovely boutiques sprinkled around that area as well. and if you go to cafe rio i recommend the PORK SALAD. trust me. enjoy your trip!

  19. Eating a Kneaders cookie as I type - yum! That is a great place for breakfast or lunch. I live in the south part of the SL valley - I'd for sure hit up Tai Pan, if your into children's things there is a great boutique called Oops a Daisy on SoDa Row in Daybreak. While you are up there you might have fun looking at the 19 or so new model homes they just opened in NorthShore(all on one block so it's easy to see them!) Better yet - grab your Kneaders lunch and eat outside by the lake - heaven! Market Street Grill is a great place to eat for dinner although a tad pricey. There is a GREAT store at the The District called the Paisley Poppy, 3 stores up is DownEast.

Well now I am just feeling like a bad person for bashing Utah all the time. I guess we do have a few fun things here! Happy travels!
