Boys Nursery: Clothing As Decorating Inspiration

Madelyn Ridgeway and her husband designed this awesome nursery for their son. Paint Colors:
Grey-BehrAnonymous (780f-5)
Blue-Behr - Brilliant sea (deep) (520-b)
Black-BehrBeluga (770 f-7)
White-Behr - Color bright white. All paint is interior satin enamel
Their inspiration was this little boys vest...

Madelyn:
"I originally painted the room grey in anticipation of a little girl’s grey and lavender room only to find out I was having a boy. Although I was disappointed at first, I found this sweater and was instantly smitten by it and used it to design the nursery around. One of the best things about the inspiration is that it had grey in it because we didn’t want to re-paint the room again if we could help it."

I featured this room back in September instructions on how to paint an argyle wall.  Madelyn sent updated photos of the finished room.

Too cute! Thanks for sharing.

  4. Oh how I wish I would have seen this nursery when we were getting the nursery together for my 14 month old son. We have the exact same sweater and argyle is my lil guy's signature style!! His crib bedding is argyle and I would have loved to have tried my hand at painting his wall to match. Not sure I can convince the hubby to give it a try now. lol

  12. I was looking for ideas for an Argyle Nursery for our first grandson - and found this website and your room...WOW!!! It is AMAZING!!! Thank you for all your tips. We recreated your room almost exactly (our room was small and only one window just like yours so the design worked perfectly!) They love it so much!!! I would love to send you pictures. Thank you!
