Baby Nursery On A Budget!

Sarah from Thrifty Decor Chick designed this classic nursery for her little guy. The cheerful colors make this room very sweet and serene. Upper wall paint color is Laura Ashley Pale Sand 1. Sarah painted the stripes herself - the colors are the same color as the upper wall paint(LA pale sand 1), Laura Ashley Apple 4, Laura Ashley Apple, Laura Ashley pale apple 1. The built ins are simply stock cabinets as the base, trim added around the bottom to raise them up, then pine boards as the shelving. Both units were less than $250 to make. Sarah highly recommends painting the back of the shelves. As you can see, they really make the white cabinets pop. To view more room photos click here.

Don't you love the blue ceiling?
The bedding is from Pottery Barn Kids.
Perfect color combo with the stripes.
Toy box made into a window seat. Clever!
A hot glue gun and fabric was used to cover the ugly binding on the coloring pad. Cheap drawer hardware was painted to hang it. Sarah is my kind of gal! She is quite thrifty and makes great things out of nothing - check out her fabulous blog. Thanks Sarah for sharing this sweet, adorable nursery!

  2. I would love for you to come by my blog and see what I did with my daughters room. (The pics are from our old house.) I made all of her nursery bedding, bed skirt, curtains, comforter-all without a pattern. As I was making her comforter I was so crazy about it, I didn't want to just get rid of it when she got a little older so I made it so I could add on to it. It is now her big girl comforter. I also made her chandelier in her room.
