Wednesdays - What Color is That??

Be careful about painting with bright greens, from experience greens will appear much brighter after you paint them then what’s on the paint chip. Amy Weigand got this spot on - I am so in love with this paint color! Amy and her hubby hand painted the wall murals. She created the images in photoshop and then projected them on the walls - traced and painted. The details according to Amy: "This nursery was designed for our daughter Cassidy. Our original intent was to create a gender neutral room in green, brown, and white. We figured we could accent later with blue for a boy and pink for a girl. We both love the color green and are very nature oriented, although we live in the city. I really love trees and knew I wanted a tree in the room, but I like crisp, clean lines. I saw a similar tree in a Pottery Barn catalog and adapted to be more whimsical. The birds are also a natural element, but the wires suggest a hint of the city. We love the color match feature at the paint store. Our first purchase was the rug, so we went to the paint store and picked up every shade of green they had. The color is "Napa Valley" by Glidden, but we had it color matched in a low VOC paint. It's a washable flat. The furniture is all from Babies R Us, the Pinehurst Collection in Espresso. The rocking chair was my great-grandfather's and we built the "cubbies" over the changing table and decoupaged them with scrapbook paper to match the room." Amy provided the templates for two of the murals (below) - you are welcome to print them out and use for your own room. Thank you Amy (and hubby) for a darling nursery and for sharing with our readers!
